The Vaughn McClure & Jeff Dickerson Foundation

The Vaughn McClure Foundation was started in 2020 by Nicholas T. Gialamas, Vaughn’s best friend from college, to honor his memory and his legacy. In 2021, our dear friend, board member, honorary chairman, and fellow ESPN reporter for the Chicago Bears — Jeff Dickerson — passed from colon cancer. He was a man who lived his life though his message — just like Vaughn — and so the Vaughn McClure & Jeff Dickerson Foundation was born. The goal of this foundation is to donate to causes that touched both Vaughn and Jeff, including research on heart disease, mental illness, lupus, and cancer. We will also start a journalism scholarship for a diversity candidate at Vaughn’s alma mater, Northern Illinois University as well as a scholarship to Jeff’s alma mater, Buffalo Grove High School. Jeff and Vaughn were more than friends, they were like brothers, and now their names will be linked together forever.
